The Gothic 1 Remake Map: Old Camp, New Camp & Swamp Camp
Most sites give you a read-only pin database. This interactive Gothic 1 Remake map does that and lets you plan: switch between the Colony overview and detail maps of the Old Camp, New Camp and Swamp Camp, then drop your own ore, chest and quest markers and export the whole plan as a PNG to follow while you play.
Pick a pin type, then tap the map to drop your route markers. Drag to pan, scroll to zoom.
The in-game parchment maps — the Colony overview plus the Old Camp, New Camp and Swamp Camp. Switch maps above, browse the marked locations, drop your own pins, then export a PNG to follow while you play. Your pins save in this browser — no account needed.

Where to buy the Gothic 1 Remake map
You start the game blind — with no Gothic 1 Remake map at all. The first thing most players search for is where to buy one, so here is the exact answer before anything else.
You buy your first Gothic 1 Remake mapin the Old Camp, and you pay for it in ore nuggets — the colony’s currency. Two merchants sell one, and the price gap between them is steep, so it is worth knowing both before you hand over your ore.
The cheap route is Dexter, in the Old Camp market. The complete route is Graham, the official cartographer, who is the only person who also stocks the close-up Old Camp map. Once you have the Colony map in your inventory you can open it any time and orient yourself against the interactive Gothic 1 Remake map above.
If you are still finding your feet in the settlement itself, the Old Camp guide walks through its layout and the faction you can join there.

Old Camp — market area
- Map of the Colony24 ore
The budget option: the same Colony map Graham sells, for far fewer ore nuggets.
Old Camp — the official cartographer
- Map of the Colony44 ore
- Map of the Old Camp35 ore
The only seller of the Old Camp map, but his Colony map is overpriced versus Dexter.
The whole Colony — the wider Valley of Mines, the camps and the roads between them.
A close-up of the Old Camp only — its wooden shacks and the central castle ring.

What this interactive Gothic 1 Remake map does
Other Gothic 1 Remake map sites stop at a read-only pin list. This one is split into two layers so it is useful the moment you open it and still yours to mark up.
Layer 1 · Browse
The Gothic 1 Remake map switches between four bases — the whole Colony, then close-up detail maps of the Old Camp, New Camp and Swamp Camp. On the Colony overview, read-only markers pin the camps and regions; click one for what it is, how reliable the intel is, and a link to the full guide.
Layer 2 · Plan
Switch to Add pins and drop your own markers — ore veins, chests, quests, danger, free notes — anywhere on the Gothic 1 Remake map. Select and move them, label them, delete them.
Layer 3 · Keep it
Your pins save in this browser automatically and never touch a server. Hit Export PNG for a clean image of your full plan to keep on a second screen while you play.
Every base layer of this Gothic 1 Remake map is an in-game parchment map — the wider Colony plus close-up maps of the Old Camp, New Camp and Swamp Camp. For a locked, slider-puzzle chest you mark on one, the lockpicking solver handles the lock itself.

The Valley of Mines: how the Colony fits together
What no pin database explains is how the place is laid out. Get the geography straight and the Gothic 1 Remake map stops being a wall of icons and starts being a route.
The entire game takes place inside the Valley of Mines — a penal colony sealed under a magic Barrier the convicts themselves raised and can never cross. The valley opens to the sea in the south; mountains wall in every other side. Three camps split the prisoners between them.
The Old Camp sits at the centre, built in a ring around an old fortress beside a lake — the hub you start near and where you buy your first map. Cross the valley north-west, past a swamp, and you reach the New Camp, the Water Mages and mercenaries tucked into a ravine. South-east, deep in the bog, lies the Swamp Camp and its Sleeper cult.
Hold those three anchors and the rest of the Gothic 1 Remake map falls into place. To pick which faction’s territory to make your base, weigh them up in the camps overview, then plan the points worth learning around your build.

The camps are not just markers on the Gothic 1 Remake map — they are the three ways the colony decides what kind of prisoner you become. The Old Camp runs the ore trade under the Ore Barons; the New Camp wants the Barrier brought down; the Swamp Camp worships the thing sleeping beneath the valley.
Because there is no fast travel early on, the Gothic 1 Remake map is really a walking-route planner. Use the pin layer above to chain the stops you care about — an ore vein here, a teacher there, a chest you need to come back for once your lockpicking is good enough — into one trip instead of three.

The physical Gothic 1 Remake map
If you searched for a printed Gothic 1 Remake map, there is an official one.
THQ Nordic sells an official printed Map of the Valley of Mines — a poster that charts the Old Camp, the New Camp and the Swamp Camp, the most important places in the colony. It is the same geography the interactive Gothic 1 Remake map above lays out, framed for a wall instead of a screen.

Gothic 1 Remake map — frequently asked questions
Where do you buy a map in Gothic 1 Remake?
You buy the Gothic 1 Remake map in the Old Camp. Dexter, in the market area, sells the Map of the Colony for 24 ore nuggets — the cheapest option. Graham, the official cartographer, sells the same Colony map for 44 and is the only source for the Map of the Old Camp at 35.
What's the difference between the Colony map and the Old Camp map?
The Map of the Colony shows the whole Valley of Mines — every camp and the roads between them. The Map of the Old Camp only shows the Old Camp itself: its wooden shacks and the central castle ring. For getting around the world, the Colony map is the one you want.
Should I buy the Gothic 1 Remake map from Graham or Dexter?
Buy the Colony map from Dexter — at 24 ore nuggets he undercuts Graham's 44 for the exact same map. Only go to Graham if you also want the close-up Old Camp map, which he alone sells.
Is there an interactive Gothic 1 Remake map?
